Pacifica Region Events

With the creation of the new regions within our Council it has allowed Tierrasanta and the other Service Units within our Pacifica Region to open registration for select events.  Below you will find information for events open to all.

Girl Scouts can meet and interact with a variety of animal species while meeting Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scout Journey and badge requirements! Your Girl Scout troop’s private and customized program at Helen Woodward Animal Center will include learning about a variety of animals through hands-on encounters from the options below. Helen Woodward Patch available with all programs.

Animals of Spring ● Daisies-Juniors ● March-May by appointment only ●
Experience a hands-on tour exploring life cycles, baby animals, and all other exciting transformations that occur after winter.  You can choose four of the following animals to meet: chicken or dove, sheep or miniature horse, bunny or guinea pig, and a frog  ● This program can be customized to meet the “Its your planet-love it!” journey requirements for Daisies ● $13 per girl ● Helen Woodward Animal Center● Book your tour by calling (858) 756-4117 x318 or e-maileducation@animalcenter.org.

Technology Goddesses  — Coding and Helping Others to Code ● Grades 6-12
 Saturday April 9 at 10 a.m - Sunday, April 10 at 1 p.m. (sleepover) Learn skills to succeed in programming: Solve and design problems and puzzles, cover internet safety, explore the processes of programming and debugging, and make your first Android apps (or your 100th!) Lead a Brownie workshop as part of your own Technology Goddess experience. You’ll receive the Technology Goddesses Coding Level 0 and Level 1 badges, a T-shirt and a surprise event item. Junior  First Aid Badge Workshop● Juniors ●Saturday, Apr. 9th from 9 am - noon
This workshop satisfies the requirements for the Junior First Aid Badge. Azusa Pacific University student nurses will conduct a training that will cover topics ranging from first aid for cuts, sprains, fractures, nosebleeds, and how to respond in case of an emergency. Activities may include role playing, creating a first aid kit, group activities, and much more! 14th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup ●all ages ● Saturday, April 23rd from 9 am-noon
Looking for a volunteer opportunity in your neighborhood? Join I Love A Clean San Diego and thousands of volunteers for the 14th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup and help clean up our beaches, bays, canyons and parks! This event features cleanups and beautification projects at 100 sites throughout San Diego County. Explore the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve and the many programs they offer for Girl Scouts. Birdwatch, go on a nature hike, discover the unique local habitat, and learn how you can be an environmental steward for South San Diego. Space Day Celebration● all ages●   Saturday, May 14, 10 am-2 pm
Explore the San Diego Air & Space Museum at their 13th annual Space Day.  Family and student groups will enjoy exciting hands-on activities, talks, and special demonstrations and have a unique opportunity to talk with local and national space experts. Do you know how much information is shared on the web through your accounts? Join BBB & ITRC for an interactive workshop to learn how to empower yourself on your mobile device! Earn a Privacy Patch by educating others about their safety settings.
